[Features] [Requirements] [Download] [Developer Information]
GeoApt is a geospatial data browser written in Python. It designed to navigate your data directories and allow you to view raster and vector layers. Information about a layer can be viewed as well.
GeoApt supports most data stores supported by the GDAL/OGR library. In addition you can drag and drop a layer from GeoApt to Quantum GIS or any other application that supports dropping of path names.
GeoApt is in early stages of development. The current release should be considered a developer release as it is not feature complete and has undergone little testing. There are no binary packages yet but GeoApt is known to run on Linux, OS X, and Windows systems with the required dependencies installed.
There is a mailing list for GeoApt at http://groups.google.com/group/geoapt-browser. You can subscribe to the list by sending email to geoapt-browser+subscribe@googlegroups.com.
If you are interested in working on GeoApt please join the list and introduce yourself. Patches and contributions are welcome!
